Creating a Training Session from the Course

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab at the top of the window.
  2. In the Training Management section of the list, select Find > Course.
    Result: The Course list is displayed.
  3. Click the Course No. link of the Current course for which to create a training session.
  4. Click the Create Training Session link
  5. Enter information in the following fields:
Field Description

Course No.

Displays the Current course number that the training session is tied to.

Training No.

Displays the training number.

Type

Click the drop down arrow and select the type of training session, such as On Line. For additional information on configuration, see Training Types.

Title

Enter the name of the training session.

Trainer

Zoom to select the trainer for the training session. For additional information on configuration, see Users.

Training Site

Zoom to select the training site. For additional information, see Training Sites.

Agenda

Zoom to select the agenda for the training session.

Maximum Enrollment

Enter the maximum number of trainees. The number specified here applies when closing training signup.

Start Date/End Date

Zoom to specify the first date for the session and the last date for the session (based on the duration specified in the Course record and inherited when the training session was created).

Start Time/End Time

Enter the times the training session starts and ends.

Notification for Signup Open

Specify the amount of time the trainer has to set an alert for trainees to sign up for the training session.

For example, if the training session has a July start date and the enrollment period should be open for signup for one month, the settings are 1 and Month.

Fee

Specify the fee to be charged for the training session.

Pass Score/Maximum Score

This field is for use only with courses without assessments. Enter a numerical value for the pass and maximum scores.

Credit Hours

Specify the number of credit hours earned for this training session.

Graded

Check the Graded checkbox to indicate that the training session requires a grade to be entered manually. Training sessions with assessments are automatically graded.

Online Information

Specify the relevant information needed when an individual takes the course online.

  1. Click the Save button.
    Result: The training session has been added.
